Estimate

First we provide an estimate based on measurements you shared with us along with your stone selection(s). We also ask that you provide the job name, job site location, edge profile and sink type. Our goal is to return all estimates within 4-6 business hours. If you need your estimate returned sooner, please just let us know.

To turn your estimate into a job, please sign the estimate and fax or email to us. Once received, our customer service department will contact you within 24 hours. Please contact us ASAP if you do not hear from us, as we may not have received your signed estimate.

Stone Inspection and Approval

Once the estimate is formally approved, our customer service people will contact you to schedule your project and order the material. When your stone is available at our warehouse we’ll contact you to schedule a stone inspection so you have the opportunity to view the actual material that will be used in your home.

TemplatingTemplating / Job Measurements

Once your cabinets are installed and/or made ready for us to take measurements (template), we will schedule an appointment to meet you at your home. The template appointment is the most important step in the process. Your presence and feedback is required to ensure a quality installation. We may leave you with a list of action-items to complete before we can proceed to the next step.

Digital Template Layout (Optional)

Once we have completed the digital template of the countertops, you or your customer can have a custom layout done on your stone (additional charges may apply). Digital template layouts are scheduled a day after your template and may add a day to your leadtime. This allows us to to complete the programming necessary. View the SLABSMITH® layout process.

Fabrication

At this point in the process, you’ve approved everything that we need to begin cutting and polishing your countertop. This includes Fabricatingproviding us with your sink, faucet, appliance information and verified completion of any action-items.

Installation

On the day of your installation, our truck will need to get as close as possible to the point of entry for your countertops. We will need clear, unobstructed access to the work area. All appliances must be removed and out of the work area to avoid any damage. Please protect your floors with cardboard or luan. For safety reasons, pets and small children must be clear of the work area until the installation is complete.

A standard kitchen installation takes 2 – 3 hours. Once complete, we’ll ask you to sign off stating everything meets your approval. In some instances, we may have to return to install cut-to-size back splash. It’s best that no one use or put anything on the countertops for at least 24 hours to allow the glues to dry and seams to set. Other trades can be scheduled for plumbing and appliance hook-ups after 24 hours has elapsed.
